Fare Thee Well

Well after 3 months of not posting to this blog, I have decided to abandon it. I have started a new blog, Rejected 365 Photos. I have been devoting all of my free time to photography lately.

This blog is a little to random, and I want to focus on my photography and showing the photos that didn't quite make it as the #1 photo for the day.

Thank you all for checking out this blog now and then :)

Backgrounds Galore

So if you checked out the music video from my last post, you would notice those awesome 100% hand painted backgrounds! (I'm so modest...) If you couldn't get enough of them, take a look:

Puddles and Wishing Wells

Holy November, has it been that long??? I have taken a much longer hiatus than I thought I did! Well folks I have some great news, a music video that I worked on with Greg is finally up on YouTube so I can now post some art work that I've been wanting to for at least 7 months now!

First check out the video by Amanda Shelby, with none other than Harry Winkler in it:

Now enjoy some of the cool animation "arcs" that we came up with while animating:

Velveteen Vulture

Today I made a fantastic stuffed vulture doll:
He stands about 9 inches tall and is made of velvet, upholstery fabric, and felt. I made him for my alphabet project that I'm working on at the 365 Project. I know Minnie liked him a lot!

Eyes

So I finally got around to drawing again. I started this drawing at the beginning of summer, and jury duty last Friday helped me finish it. Please enjoy:

Alphabet Galore

I is for Icebox Igloo on 365project.org
more photos

Lately I've been working on this photo project using letters of the alphabet. Today was "I is for Icebox Igloo." I made this cute little eskimo and penguins out of sculpy and painted them with acrylics. If you want to see the rest of my project photos, click on the "photos" link above.

...oh and Greg drew the igloo for me too...

Keep Walking

Today Greg and I drove by Disney Studios in Burbank... and like silly fools got out to take pictures. I hope that one day I'll get to go there on "offical business," rather than acting like a couple of turds, taking pictures of the entrance. This was my favorite picture that I took during our adventure.

Fireworks Pixelation

Here is a pixelation that I made of the local Fourth of July Festivities.

Exponential Photography

I did a little photography experiment. I started out with this photo to the left of my mouse and mouse pad. Then I used the macro focus setting on my camera to take a close up picture of the digital photo on my computer screen. Then I took a close up picture of the close up picture, and so on. Below are the different close up pictures I took, almost in succession.

Lego Mania

I've spent the past few days sorting through my big box of Lego's. I'm working on making a color wheel poster for my classroom when I finally land that art teacher job. Of course this poster will all be made out of pictures of Lego's. Since I had all these Lego's out, I had to build something! So these pictures have come from that adventure.

Doggie Sketch

Here are some more old sketches that I found laying around to composite together. I tried to make my drawing of the whale look like it was a sticker on the paper, I think I put too much of a drop shadow on it.

Sing Electric

I found this little doodle that I had done a few months ago. I decided that I would color it up and add some elements to it.

Bead Weaving 365

Beads on 365project.org
more photos

I started to do this photo project on 365 Project where for a year I will take one picture a day. This is my picture from today. I've been making more woven beads, and here they are. The multi-color one is a bunch of antique beads that my grandma gave me. It's really pretty.

Bee Loom, Ego and the youtube

I've been really interested in doing some bead loom weaving. My collection of seed beads have been growing in addition to the recent donation to it from my grandma. So this is my first attempt at it. I call it Bee Loom!
I recently was feeding my ego a bit and googling my name. I came across a website called The Big Cartoon DataBase (I guess it's like IMDB for cartoons), and I found that two of my films are on it! Check it out!
One last thing, I uploaded my newest demo reel on youtube, behold:

Thunder Storm

I couldn't help it, I had to make one more text photocollage. A couple of weeks ago, there was a crazy lightning storm that rolled through. The picture is one of them that I took of the clouds that day.

Darkside... Rock On!

While I was researching for a project I'm working on, I found this awesome website called Wordle that makes word clouds. I was so fascinated by it, that I started putting in all kinds of text to make different word patterns. Of course I was using Pink Floyd song lyrics, hence this fantastic image. If you are a Floydhead like I am, I uploaded this big enough so you can set it as your desktop (if you are so inclined.... ).

Designs Galore

Here are two new pages from my sketchbook. The Hands Design page is pretty large so you can see all the detail. I must admit that it looks alot better in real life. The scan really washed out the colors.

Mr. Blue Sky

I have been listening to ELO way too Much!!!!!!! This picture has some characters that Greg designed for a project we were working on together; a Debbie rendition if you will.
